Fatty Sets new Record, Koivukoski Fishway Proves too Narrow for Ritu

The fishway of Koivukoski

Heikki's Läski (”Fatty”) made a monstrous jump of 7400m in just three hours, breaking all the records both in distance, speed and the score. Läski was naturally very satisfied with his performance. ”Conditions were good for us today, and everything worked well. This track also provides sufficient amount of opportunities to pass, as long as you use your opportunities”, he said after the run, looking wet. ”In many other rivers the GP:s are boring to watch, because you can't pass. Here at Kymi you have no problem with that”.

Ice One Racing team's Kimi, ending up second today, was not happy at all with his performance. ”It is frustrating when you don't get more power out of your tail. Second place today was ok”, he said, looking emotionless. ”You can't be satisfied if you don't win”.

Jasper's Koskinen and Chisu's Queen ended up third and fourth respectively.

In Kymenlaakso GP Ritu of Helen succeeded finally in finding an inlet to the fishway, after banging her head against the wall for several days. She did not, however, quite manage the narrow stairs of the fishway, but settled on the first steps of it to work with new tactics. Nadja ended second on monday's leg, just before Venny, below the Koivukoski dam. Weismüller had a show of his own again, when the only trout of the race floated half a kilometer downstream towards the lower parts of Langinkoski.

In Kotka GP Tyyne was pushing the odds and tried her luck in the fishway, falling into the inlet, side by side with Kymenlaakso GP:s Ritu. Kotka GP will last only three more days, and the final is getting exciting. Tyyne is in the lead, followed by Raipe and Simo Suomi. Anything can still happen.

The only Fish out of the race seems to be Lyyli, who got lost and swam to Korkeakoski's umbilical cord, constantly threatened by blood thirsty fishermen.
